Tree Services & Arborist Consultations
Healthy trees are the foundation of any successful green space.
Our certified arborists provide a full spectrum of services: pruning, removal, cabling and bracing, risk assessment, and species consultation, to ensure every tree is both safe and long-lived.
We often collaborate during the planning phase to guide tree selection and placement, ensuring species are appropriate for their long-term environment.
Our approach balances aesthetic goals, soil health, and site conditions to establish resilient urban canopies that thrive well beyond project completion.

Tree Protection & Preservation During Construction
Safeguarding Urban Trees Through Every Phase of Construction
Arborist Now provides comprehensive tree protection and preservation services for construction and development projects across the Bay Area.
Our goal is to ensure that mature, valuable trees survive and thrive before, during, and after construction, preserving the environmental and aesthetic value of your site.
We design and implement site-specific tree protection plans that meet or exceed municipal tree preservation standards and project specifications.
Our certified arborists coordinate directly with general contractors, architects, and city inspectors to ensure compliance and real-world practicality on the job site.
Our Services Include:

- Pre-construction Arborist Reports – documenting tree condition, health, and preservation feasibility
- Root Zone Management – air spading, root pruning, and soil aeration to minimize disturbance
- Monitoring and Compliance Inspections – ongoing site visits with detailed documentation and recommendations
- Post-construction Rehabilitation – soil decompaction, irrigation setup, and fertilization to restore health after site impact
Case Study Preview: Evans Avenue, San Francisco
For a recent construction project on Evans Avenue in San Francisco, Arborist Now designed and installed a complete tree protection system around a row of mature street trees during site excavation and utility installation.
The setup included engineered root zone protection mats, temporary irrigation lines, and above-grade fencing to meet city inspection standards and maintain accessibility for construction crews.
A full photo and project blog will soon be available to illustrate this process in detail.
Why It Matters
Tree preservation during construction isn’t only about compliance; it’s about protecting living infrastructure.
Our proactive approach helps contractors avoid costly fines, project delays, and the long-term loss of valuable canopy cover.
Arborist Now’s construction-ready tree protection plans ensure that every project moves forward responsibly, sustainably, and in full coordination with local urban forest standards.
Softscaping & Planting
Planting is not just installation—it’s the art of establishing a living foundation that grows, adapts, and transforms the landscape over time.
We handle tree, shrub, and perennial installations with careful attention to soil structure, root health, and irrigation compatibility.
Every plant is installed with longevity in mind, using proper soil amendments, mycorrhizae inoculation, and mulching to enhance soil vitality.
Our work aligns with modern sustainability standards, including drought-tolerant plant selection and low-maintenance designs suitable for the Bay Area’s unique microclimates.

Irrigation Systems
An efficient irrigation system is the backbone of plant health.
We design, install, and maintain smart irrigation systems that maximize efficiency while minimizing water waste, an essential component in California’s climate.
From construction start-up irrigation to permanent drip and spray systems, our technicians ensure precise coverage, optimal pressure, and seamless integration with your planting plan.
Environmental Installations & Natural Structures
Bringing Nature, Engineering, and Design Together
At Arborist Now, we specialize in creating natural installations that merge art, ecology, and structural precision.
These projects go beyond traditional landscaping; they are engineered natural environments designed to interact with the elements while maintaining safety, durability, and beauty.
Our Environmental Installations & Natural Structures service focuses on using natural materials—such as logs, boulders, reclaimed wood, and native plantings—to build functional, lasting outdoor features that enhance both ecological value and visitor experience.
Erosion Control & Ecological Restoration
In addition to natural installations, our team provides erosion control and soil stabilization solutions for challenging sites, from slopes and creek banks to coastal zones and disturbed soils.
We lift and reshape soil, stabilize with erosion control fabric, and plant native vegetation that restores natural structure and prevents washout over time.
Our approach prioritizes long-term resilience, biodiversity, and low maintenance, aligning with ecological best practices for California’s varied landscapes.
These restoration efforts often integrate with our larger installations, creating spaces that are both beautiful and environmentally protective.
Featured Project: Corte Madera Natural Log Installation
A clear example of this work is our Corte Madera project, where our team built a shoreline installation using massive reclaimed logs and two-ton boulders.
The challenge: Tides fluctuating between high and low levels required the logs to be securely fastened to the rocks without altering their natural appearance.
We engineered a robust anchoring system using 1” hot-dipped galvanized threaded rods; we drilled through the logs and fixed them into the boulders using marine-grade epoxy and concealed link systems.
Each connection was carefully designed to withstand immersion, movement, and variable forces while maintaining the site’s organic aesthetic and public safety requirements.
This project illustrates how Arborist Now bridges environmental art and construction precision, creating installations that are as functional and resilient as they are visually engaging.
Applications
- Erosion control & slope stabilization

Outdoor Furniture, Functional Art, & Natural Playgrounds
Our creative division transforms natural materials into meaningful experiences.
From custom benches, tables, and sculptures to interactive natural playgrounds, every piece we build reflects craftsmanship, durability, and a connection to place.
Many of our installations are crafted from locally salvaged urban wood, then milled and finished at our own milling facility in the heart of San Francisco.
This unique capability allows us to repurpose trees removed during arboricultural work into functional art and site furnishings, extending their life and preserving their story.
When we build natural play environments, we emphasize safety, functionality, and imagination—incorporating logs, stumps, and climbing elements that invite children and adults alike to engage with nature directly.
Every installation is handled from concept to completion, including design, milling, fabrication, delivery, and installation, ensuring the result harmonizes art, ecology, and community use.
